Hedgerows for Habitat

Land stewards, farmers, and growers: join us for a workshop focused on integrating biodiversity-supporting hedgerows into working landscapes.

This workshop will have participants come away with a strong mix of practical, ecological, and hands-on skills that allow them to confidently design and install hedgerows on the land they manage. They will learn how to assess their site conditions, choose appropriate locations and understand how factors like sunlight, soil, drainage and farm layout influences success.

Participants will gain hands-on experience they can apply to their own farms.

This is one of two workshops focused on hedgerows this year. It will have a specific focus on planning and preparation while the fall/winter workshop will focus on installation.

We will meet at 10:00 am on Tuesday, June 2nd at Sea Bluff Farm at 565 Wootton Road, enter off of Wittys Beach Road >  https://maps.app.goo.gl/btudUkZtt1w2VJ597 and wrap up at 1:00 pm. Lunch is included!

We have subsidies available for Indigenous participants who may face barriers to participation. Please connect with Paige at paige@hat.bc.ca if this applies to you.

If you have any further questions about event details, please don't hesitate to reach out to paige@hat.bc.ca. We'll see you there!
